Hydrant Flow Testing
Fire hydrants require periodic inspection and occasional maintenance in accordance with AS1851-2012.
This ensures they will work in an emergency situation allowing the fire brigade or rescue appliances to connect their hoses in the vicinity of the fire to access water easily and efficiently fight a fire.
Fire hydrants should be inspected and tested twice per year to ensure the water pressure and flow rate are adequate, the inspection also includes many other checks to ensure it will operate correctly.
On a yearly basis it is a requirement to perform flow testing on the most hydraulically disadvantaged hydrant within a circuit.
FSI have the expertise to carry out this testing and supply you with the appropriate test reports to satisfy legislative requirements.
