OCTOBER SAFETY MONTH EVENT - MORANBAH

FSI has taken a proactive approach to safety by hosting several National Safe Work Month events across our branches during the month of October.

On Tuesday 22nd October, FSI hosted our final Safety Month event at our Moranbah branch which involved staff and customers who work in the QLD Bowen Basin region. Keynote Speaker, Jed Millen (WHSQ Safety Advocate) shared his personal experience on how his preventable workplace injury changed his life and the ongoing impact that his permanent injury has had on himself and his family. The message that Jed delivered was clear, ‘we work safe not only for ourselves but just as importantly, for our families, friends and loved ones that we go home to each day’ further driving FSI’s safety motto of Think Safe, Work Safe, Home Safe.

OCTOBER SAFETY MONTH EVENT - BRISBANE

FSI prides itself on being an industry leader in safety and we demonstrate this through our actions not just our words.

Yesterday our Brisbane Head Office hosted an event in recognition of National Safe Work Month. This year’s theme ‘Be a Safety Champion’ demonstrates how everyone can support a safety culture at their workplace.

Keynote Speaker, Shane Webcke (QLD Safety Ambassador, football legend and sports presenter) shared his story on the impact that his father’s workplace death had on his family and emphasised the importance of staying safe at work. Shane’s key messaging was that we ‘own our choices’ and to ensure that if you see someone doing something unsafe, say something.

Shane shared personal stories on how our typical Australian ‘she’ll be right’ attitude can lead to terrible and unchangeable outcomes. FSI’s safety event was attended by the FSI Brisbane team and our valued customers with catering provided by our friends at The Good Grub Club through Anglicare. The Good Grub Club educate homeless youths on good food nutrition, food preparation and presentation.

Thank you to all involved on a valuable and successful event! FSI will hold another National Safe Work Month Event at our Moranbah branch on Tuesday 22nd October with keynote speaker Jed Millen.

800 DAYS LTI FREE

It’s been a busy few weeks for FSI. On Monday 7th October 2019 we achieved yet another milestone – 800 Days Lost Time Injury (LTI) Free.

This achievement could not have been reached without the hard work and commitment from all employees past & present actively participating in the company safety values despite our ever growing and geographically dispersed workforce, at times operating in high risk environments.

We couldn’t be prouder of our team’s continued efforts in making FSI a safer place to work and ensuring that all employees can ‘Think Safe, Work Safe, Home Safe’ each and every day.

Celebrating 28 Years!!

This Saturday 28th September marks a significant date for FSI, as it is the 28th Anniversary of operations for our company.

Peter Redman and Ross Chidgey founded FSI in 1991 from a small warehouse in Secam Street, Mansfield. Established from humble beginnings, FSI has experienced significant growth throughout the years in both our domestic and international operations. Commencing with only 3 employees, our team has grown to a strong 140 people with many being long term employees.

Today, we operate from our Devlan Street Head Office (also in Mansfield) along with our regional branches across QLD and NSW. We also work closely with our domestic and international distribution partners providing solutions across the globe.

The FSI team are proud to belong to such a successful global company which still maintains family values.

FSI are pleased to announce that we have arrived in NSW! The opening of our Singleton branch marks the next major investment for FSI and highlights an exciting time as we experience continued business growth. A word from our Human Resources Manager, Tanya Hibbard… “We are so excited to be opening in Singleton, NSW. The job opportunities this will create for locals will range from Office Administration to Field Technicians, including tradespeople from other industries. FSI take pride in the fact that we are an Australian family owned business that has grown from humble beginnings, hard work and a desire to be the best in our Industry. 700 Days Lost Time Injury (LTI) Free!! At FSI we hold the health, safety and wellbeing of our workforce as our highest priority. On Saturday 29th June 2019, FSI achieved the significant milestone of 700 Days Lost Time Injury (LTI) free. This achievement is a direct result of our commitment to safety and could not have been reached without the hard work and dedication of every single employee displaying the safety values of FSI.
