FSI recently designed and constructed a new Fire Hydrant and Fire Hose reel system to a fully operational Coal Handling and Preparation Plant (CHPP) in Central Queensland’s Bowen Basin, providing the plant with a new standalone AS2419.1 complaint Fire System. FSI safely installed over 1 kilometre of new galvanised steel pipework throughout the operational plant. The system included 432 kilolitres of onsite Fire Water Storage and dual diesel driven Fire Pumps to deliver firefighting water at the required pressures and flows.

Methane Gas Drainage Stub Protection
In underground coal mines, methane gas fires pose a constant threat, and methane gas drainage stubs are an identified risk. When methane ignites within these stubs, the results can be catastrophic.
FSI’s Methane Gas Drainage Stub Suppression System is meticulously engineered to meet the rigorous demands of underground mining environments. It effectively assists in mitigating the risks associated with methane gas fires, significantly reducing their impact.
